An updated and easier to use Regional Services Database is now available on the KCRHA website. This project was a significant undertaking, led by KCRHA’s Research & Data Team and done in partnership with local service providers. The RSD is a multi-functional tool that helps people locate services while also providing service providers, local governments, community partners, and regional planners with a shared picture of homelessness resources across King County.
The database includes more than 400 housing, shelter, outreach, navigation, day-service, behavioral health, substance use, and other programs serving people experiencing homelessness throughout King County.
Through the new and improved RSD, community members can see the geographic spread of program availability, search for specific programs, filter by provider, project type, location (both subregion and jurisdiction), populations served, access features, services offered, and amenities offered. Multiple filters can be used at once, allowing users to narrow the results and identify programs that fit their needs.
It is important to note that this tool does not show live inventory—beds that are currently available—but instead shows the number of units regardless of current occupation status. Users will still need to reach out to programs directly to learn about current availability. The RSD is a program and service inventory, not a live bed-availability or referral system. It shows the beds, units, or other capacity associated with programs, regardless of whether those resources are currently occupied. Users will still need to confirm eligibility, referral requirements, and current availability through the appropriate program or referral system. People currently experiencing homelessness should continue to call 211 or visit a Regional Access Point (RAP) to connect with services. (RAP sites are also listed within the database.)
In addition to helping service providers and people experiencing homelessness find the resources they’re looking for, the RSD also provides comprehensive information about the full landscape of homelessness service providers. This allows community planners and people who are looking at the broader picture of the homelessness response system in King County to understand what is available in each subregion or municipality and identify service gaps.
This new tool reflects a high level of collaboration and participation from homelessness service providers throughout King County, and we are thankful for their time, insights, and feedback as we built the updated RSD together.
