The RHA is designed to unify and coordinate funding, policy, and homeless response services. The RHA does not have the power to levy taxes, but instead is funded through the regular budget process of King County and the City of Seattle.
Overall, the RHA will manage $162.4 million for homeless service provision in 2022, which includes $27.9 million in one-time federal relief funds.
The City of Seattle is providing 66% of the RHA’s locally-based funding. King County provides 34% of our locally-based funding. The budget process for 2023 will begin in summer 2022 and be finalized before the end of the year.
