KCRHA Not Impacted by Government Shutdown

Operations at the King County Regional Homeless Authority (KCRHA) are not impacted by the government shutdown. KCRHA and contracted providers continue to function as normal.

The majority of KCRHA’s funding comes from local sources that are not impacted by Federal actions. Additionally, KCRHA continues to have access to the Federal funds that support homelessness services in the region, such as the ability to receive payment for services delivered. Availability of those funds is not halted by the Federal shutdown.

On September 29, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released a contingency plan in case of a shutdown. Communities that receive Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), and other Community Planning and Development (CPD) grant funding will be able to draw those funds during the lapse.

This is an evolving situation that KCRHA staff are monitoring.

KCRHA contracted providers should contact their contract lead if they have any questions.
