Are you looking for a meaningful way to shape our region’s homelessness response? KCRHA’s Governing Board is seeking applications for individuals to represent those with Lived Experience on the Board. Under the Authority’s new authorizing legislation, the City of Seattle, King County, and Sound Cities Association each appoint one person to meet this requirement.
Lived experience is defined as having experience of housing instability or homelessness, including individuals who have accessed or sought homeless services while fleeing domestic violence and other unsafe situations. To meet the qualifications, applicants should possess expertise, experience and/or skills in one or more of the areas listed below:
- Implementation of policies and practices that promote racial-ethnic equity within mid-size organizations with similar responsibilities as KCRHA
- Federal Continuum of Care program governance and operations
- Providing services for people experiencing homelessness or related services for those who are disproportionately represented in King County’s homeless population
- Academic research on topics related to homelessness and/or performance evaluation
- Fiscal oversight of entities with budgets of more than $100 million.
- Experience directing and/or overseeing business operations at a large organization
