We are very excited to welcome Anne Burkland as our Chief of Staff, starting October 5th.
Anne Burkland (she/her) has been in legislative affairs and public service for 15 years. She began her career at the Washington State Legislature, worked at the Metropolitan King County Council, and most recently led government affairs for Public Health — Seattle & King County.
Under her leadership, the State Legislature invested more than $300 million in core public health services across the State. Anne is most proud of being part of the region’s COVID-19 pandemic response. King County had some of the lowest COVID-19 deaths and hospitalizations during the acute phase of the pandemic as well as the nation’s best vaccination rates across all races and ethnicities.
Anne is motivated when working with teams and loves learning something new every day. She is the mom of two small kids, a reader, and lover of baked goods (in particular, cake).
As Chief of Staff, Anne B. will be responsible for developing strategy for government and community relations, establishing and maintaining relationships with key leaders and stakeholders across the region, and ensuring broad support for the RHA’s mission of dramatically reducing homelessness.
