The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a regularly conducted (biennial), federally mandated survey of homelessness across all of King County. The information gathered in the PIT Count helps us better understand the scale and nature of the homelessness crisis, as well as providing critical information about the specific needs of those experiencing homelessness in our community.
The Seattle/King County 2026 PIT Count will be conducted early next year, between January 26 and February 6, and we are seeking community members to fill a variety of volunteer positions. Individuals can volunteer to be a hub site lead, surveyors, or travel/runners. Volunteers can select their preferred King County subregion, so they can serve in a convenient location.
Important Information:
- Shifts will be on Monday – Friday between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm, January 26 – February 6, 2026 (if severe weather disrupts this, we will shift to February 3 -13).
- All shifts will be three to five hours per day.
- There is a stipend available for people with lived experience of homelessness. These roles are limited, so please sign up ASAP.
- If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, not necessarily administering the survey but conducting outreach and recruitment, we’ll reach out to you to discuss. Please note that on the submission form.
To volunteer, please complete the sign-up form by 12:00 pm on Monday, December 15, 2025.
